interessant lijstje: Top Ten Mistakes in Web Design (Jakob Nielsen’s Alertbox)

  1. Bad Search (and doing search right can be a real pain in the ass)
  2. PDF Files for Online Reading (great for manuals and stuff-that-goes-straight-to-the-printer, but I don’t want to have to read your PDF to know what your products are)
  3. Not Changing the Color of Visited Links (or not having clearly distinctive links at all)
  4. Non-Scannable Text
  5. Fixed Font Size
  6. Page Titles With Low Search Engine Visibility
  7. Anything That Looks Like an Advertisement
  8. Violating Design Conventions
  9. Opening New Browser Windows (my firefox opens these up in a new tab instead, but still)
  10. Not Answering Users’ Questions (companies still tend to forget that web is a bi-directional medium and is becoming more and more so, cfr. ‘participative generation’ aka pagens)
